Guided Liffey kayak tours from the Liffey Boardwalk — paddle under O'Connell and Ha'penny bridges.

City Kayaking runs guided river trips from a pontoon on the Liffey Boardwalk, between the Ha’penny and O’Connell bridges — the only way to paddle underneath Dublin’s most famous crossings. Experienced local guides lead the way in stable sit-on-top kayaks, with at least 90 minutes on the water across a two-hour session.

Kayaks are doubles and triples; sharing a boat is encouraged though solo paddlers can request their own craft at boarding. No prior experience is needed — buoyancy aids are provided. Minimum age is 12; under-16s must be accompanied on the water by an adult. Groups of 4 to 30 suit standard bookings; wear clothes you do not mind getting wet and bring a change of clothes as there is no on-site changing facility.

The launch point is Bachelor’s Walk, Dublin 1 — dead centre of the city, walkable from most offices and hotels. Arrive a few minutes before your booking time; the team meets you at the gangway gate on the boardwalk.

Paddling the Liffey together is cooperative by nature — pairs must synchronise strokes and navigate as a unit. The unusual perspective on familiar landmarks gives everyone shared reference points without requiring athletic ability.
